VRF Service Specialist

Responsibilities:
Provide Customer Support by coordinating and/or performing the installation and commissioning of Variable Refrigerant Flow equipment at the customer’s facility, or thru all communications media including email, written, telephone and face to face interactions. Provide maintenance and service on Variable Refrigerant Flow equipment to achieve onsite repairs and component replacement. Take on call rotation and respond to after hour service calls as needed. (Includes responding to after-hours calls when not on call if needed). Ability to serve the customer safely, efficiently, and effectively with a positive attitude. Attend in house training programs as required.

Skills Required:
Specific skills in servicing commercial equipment, ancillary equipment, unitary equipment, electronic building and energy management systems and miscellaneous auxiliary equipment from multiple manufacturers; experience with multiple brands of Variable Refrigerant Flow equipment. Responsible for retrofit and repair of environmental- comfort systems, utilizing knowledge of air conditioning theory, pipe fitting, and mechanical layouts. Available to handle after hours call even if not on call. Miscellaneous duties as required by HTS/DXS/VRF Services.

Record time and job information daily on tablet/computer supplied by VRFS. Log in and Log out on every call each day. Maintain accurate paperwork. Maintain all maintenance logs and safety logs as required by HTS/DXS/VRF services. Maintain valid driving license with a safe driving record.

Education and/or Experience required:
Associate degree or equivalent from a Technical / Trade School with a certificate in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning and/or five (5) years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of Microsoft Office software and computer skills.

Physical Requirements:
Must be able to handle and lift normal tools of the trade for air conditioning service work. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch or craw. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. On occasion lift and/or move more than 50 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Normal Hours: Normal work week (7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Mon – Fri) with potential opportunities and requirements for overtime
